What burns more calories cycling or running?

I know alot has to do with the effort you put into it but I am going to either purchase a treadmill or a recumbent exercise bike in a few days and I need to know which one burns more calories per hour. I read that cycling burns more but I get so much more winded and tired running, therefore I thought running burns more. I’m confused.

This is a usefull little link:

It gives the energy used in various sports.

On a treadmill running will use about double the calories that cycling does. Or it does for me, and of course this is dependant on things like how much effort you put in to each exercise and the gradient on resistance you use.
