Is the flight deck a really good computer for high end road
bikes?
Is it truly wireless or are there still wires required?
Are there any other bicycle computers you recommend over
this one? This also shows the gear you’re in and integrates to
Dura-Ace (even Ultegra)

Is Sidi Genius 6.6 cycling shoe worth the really large price tag?
Do they run large or small?
Thanks cycling enthusiasts …

I can say that the Sidi Genius 6.6 are my favorite shoes. i believe that they are truly worht the price, but it wouldn’t be if the shoe didn’t fit you.
The Flight Deck computer is a decent computer. It can be used with any of the STI shifters including Sora. If you’re running Dura Ace, I wouldn’t bother with a Flight Deck. There is a gear selector on the Dura Ace shifter cables if I’m not mistaken. In fact, even Shimano Tiagra has that feature now.
Buy a good Cateye computer and get better features for the money or buy one with most of the features for half the money.

Can’t really comment on the 6.6, but I do love all my Sidi’s, as long it fits properly. My Genius’ are pretty old, and have Sidi Techno Fire’s for mtn biking. Since I switch so much between road and mtn, love the Fire’s, and don’t like slipping all the time in look-style cleats, i threw 959′s on my litespeed and use my Fire’s for road biking too (I think I heard a collective gasp from roadies). But Sidi’s run a little narrow, so make sure you wear them in the store for awhile to find the right size. I was sure I’d buy size 41.5, but thought I’d wear them in the store for awhile. after 25 min, they felt tight and i moved up to 42. perfect fit.
For flight deck computer, mine’s isn’t wireless. it connects via wire to the two STI shifters and the front wheel sensor. I use it on a 03 Dura-Ace group. Yes, it shows what gear you’re in, and by entering in the exact size of each of your gears, it can calculate your cadence (pedalling speed) without having to put a sensor on your cranks. It has a lot of features – way more than i need, or have even bothered to learn about.
For me, the big plus is that with flight deck, you don’t have to remove your hands from your hoods to press the buttons, since the buttons are integrated into the STI hoods. If that doesn’t sound good enough to justify the steep price, then choose something else. the features of the cyclocomputer itself don’t justify it’s price.
One more thing – if you don’t really need wireless, i’d pass on it. What’s wrong with a wire running down to your fork? it just means an extra battery to maintain, risking that your cyclocomputer may not work if there’s radio-intereference, and i’ve read warning from HID light companies like Light-n-Motion that sometimes their lights won’t work if you run a wireless computer. have no idea why.
