No doubt Merckx is the best. That being said, Lance will remain a legend, forever mentioned among the best.
King of the Tour the France, I agree. But cycling is a lot more then just the Tour de France. It’s difficult to explain to people who never watched Paris-Roubaix or other Classics live, but the real God of cycling is without any doubt Eddy Merckx. Ask Lance in an interview and he will agree. Maybe you should take a look at Daniel Marsza?ek and his list of the best cyclists ever on wikipedia.
