I have cycling that affects my personality, viewpoint, my entire way of thinking. I feel like different people throughout the day. It makes me feel like I’m losing my mind. What do I do?

I’ve got three friends with bipolar disorder. The only time any of them have serious problems is when they disregard medical advice and fail to take their medication. These days it’s usually an easy condition to control. Please seek medical help.

Seek professional help. From personal experience know exactly what is going on with your mind. Don’t be afraid of talking about it, which you have already accomplished. If you are married (or the like) great communication is needed. As long as you and those close to you talk through this, you can stay “grounded”.

I wish that I could give sound advice. I experience the same thing. Somedays wonder if it is beyond bipolar. Being that they normally say those cycles take a bit long. My highs and lows can be moments apart. I feel for those around me. Yet what goes on inside my own head its hard to leave compassion for those that have to deal with me. Stay on your med’s i dont take mine. I try to focus on positive things so that my mind stays busy. I have to have a lot going on at a time. Art is very good therapy for me.
Im not sure how your lows are but if i can take a few moments to break i am cool. A punching bag or a few tears. Suck it up and go on. Trying to fight with those voices i argue with constantly.? Good luck wish i had more sound advice.

The best thing you can do is seek a professional that is familiar with By-polar disorder. You may benefit from medication, therapy or both. By-polar is a lifelong illness and will not improve with out help. You should not have to suffer like this…there is help that will make things alot better I promise. Dana
