Hi, I am about to start racing next year (when i turn 18) and realized that I’m only allowed to buy a Junior Road Racing licence.
After reading the USAC cycling rule book, i found that :
“Under 23 and Junior riders may compete in any races for their age or older, subject to category restrictions but not Masters races.”
Does that mean i can race in regular Cat 5 mens races with my Junior license?

I’ve been on that page trying to figure out where I need to race too. It isn’t very forward about where each person should race first. I also will be CAT-5, but I am 31 and will be 32 by then. I can’t imagine you would be racing men.
I think it comes down to this. At 18 you are either going to be not as strong as I am, or you are going to be way more fit. I doubt the fit part will matter in a race like that. It comes down to strength and endurance.
I call for the rules to be written in layman’s terms. I think you are allowed to race in the Regular cat 5 race.
