I have a 5 year old son. I need to get him a helmet for his bicycle, and scooter. I notice at the stores they have bicycle helmets and then they have a helmet for all other activieties. Why? Which is best?

Don’t we wish these pools would have been available on the market when we had been children! These pools put the plastic swimming pools from my childhood to shame.
However there IS a bit of more to setting them up then tossing within the hose. Simply comply with your swimming pools instructions, but keep the following tips in mind too.
1. Put down a layer of stage sand under your tarp or ground cloth to make it more secure and resistant to tears.
2. Place the filter in a corner space of your sq. ground material so it is more prone to stay upright and away from the mower.
3. Your filter has to plug in, ensure and use a vivid colored extension wire to get rid of journeys and falls.
4. At all times have a patch equipment or two readily available, they do work properly but you may lose loads of water if you need to run to the shop when and in case you need one.
5. Get as many wrinkles out of the liner as attainable starting with the middle.
6. Add the water slowly till all the wrinkles have been smoothed out. An excessive amount of water makes it laborious, if not unattainable, to work out the wrinkles.
7. Double test to verify the drain plug is in.
8. Double check to ensure your pump hoses are safe and burp the air out of the pump earlier than you plug it in.
9. Read the chemical labels and learn what to add when. It actually is not that tough when you persistently care for it.
10. Have Enjoyable!! Make sure and supervise your youngsters rigorously and to keep the chemical compounds out of reach. Also keep in mind that pool covers are supposed to keep debris out of the pool and are not meant as a security device to maintain kids safe. That’s your job, you may be the lifeguard all the time on responsibility with a pool within the yard.

From where I live, waterproof shoe covers are always practical to have . You’ll never know when rain will pour . A pair of well-made shoes is expensive which is why you want them to last a little longer to get your money’s worth . Wet feet are very uncomfortable; I don’t like walking around with cold feet and squeaking shoes! Water can pretty much ruin your leather and you and I both know how pricey leather shoes can be. Doesn’t it make you feel bad when your favorite pair has to retire early because you did not care for them properly? There are tons of waterproofing sprays and products available in the market today but are they really enough to protect your shoes?
This may be something you never pondered about before but the truth is there are a lot of available options to keep your shoes from getting wet and dirty . It really doesn’t matter whether you’re looking for added warmth, more support, or protection for your shoe’s material or perhaps all of the above, there is waterproof shoe cover designed for your specific needs. These covers come in all shapes, sizes and colors. You have almost as many options for shoe covers as you do for shoes! These products have evolved so much for the past couple of years. Now fashion and comfort come hand in hand.
Waterproof shoes are way too expensive and if you are like me who doesn’t want to spend a lot of money, a shoe cover should be your best option. If you are a biking enthusiast, protecting your shoes shouldn’t be a problem because there are various waterproof bike shoe covers made to best suit your active lifestyle. Burley Shoe Covers are great for keeping your feet dry but you can’t order directly from them. You have to go to a bike shop or you may want to check out mail order businesses that offer the said brand. If you want a cheaper option that works quite as well, you can turn to Tyvek Boot Covers. They usually come in white which will make you more visible to motorists. You can get them as cheap as $1 . Now that’s a great deal !

Many people spend workout time building non-functional muscles that rely on weight machines to function properly. Weight machines are good for:
But the rest of the time, working out on weight machines builds muscle that has no significant functional application – the small, stabilizing muscles that support the major muscle groups aren’t built up on a weight machine, because the machine is providing the stabilization.
So even though major muscle groups are strengthened, when an individual is no longer supported by the weight machine, they simply have a muscle that can provide a strong contraction with little to no support from the other stabilizing muscles . This is counter-productive for an athlete, and can also cause injury.
For example, the machine shoulder press, where you sit in a back-supported chair and press two overhead handles attached to a lever . Normally, in an workaday situation, if you were to press a weight overhead, or exert a force in that direction, you would not be in a sitting position and the item you are pressing overhead ( milk crate, a kid, a basketball ) wouldn’t be supported by a lever. Moreover the machine moves straight up and down, whereas a free object moves in countless planes of motion.
The absence of multiple ranges of motion means that you are getting a very strong contraction from the deltoid ( shoulder muscle ) while completely ignoring rotational muscles, stabilizing ( neck ) and supporting muscles ( feet, legs, hips, torso ). Now if you throw a ball, the deltoid is able to produce a very strong force, but the rotator cuff and other supporting muscles such as the low back, are not in the same shape. Throwing your back out or tearing a muscle can result, which is why weight machines can often cause more harm than good.
An alternate way to working out with machines is functional exercises. Functional movement patterns simulate many of the same movements our “primal ancestors” ( cavemen ) would have performed in order to survive in an unpredictable environment, whether tracking a wild animal ( or being chased by one ), lifting objects such as logs and rocks, or battle via swinging, throwing, and pulling ( such as a bow ).
You can see how for athletes – triathlon & duathlon training, cycling and bike workouts, this data is really important.
I really recommend Shape 21, which is a great book that show you how to put these movements together into a routine for ideal balance between muscle groups, efficient calorie burning, fat utilization, metabolic boosting, and injury avoidance. It also includes grocery shopping lists, a nutritional plans, and a range of functional workout programs from beginner to intermediate to advanced.

Its a long time since bike wheels were taken from horse-drawn carts! Wooden wheels with a metal band round the bicycle rim were very hard and uncomfortable to ride. So the inflated tire and tarred roads made things a lot easier on the cyclist. And after the first wooden rims then came steel, alloy and now if you can afford it, carbon. These days you can take into account a number of different things including the material used, the shapes/cross-section and the hub construction ( spoked or solid ).
Out of all the bicycle parts the bicycles wheel rims can influence your bike’s handling the most . If you’re into bike workouts where you’re moving fast, this can be important, and if you’re a sprinter or climber then you need light wheel rims so that you don’t get slowed down. For traveling along, fast, flat roads weight isn’t so important, as when you get the wheels rolling, the weight can help you to move along .
Flat rims are best for climbing, as aerodynamics are not so important on a hill, while a deep section, aerodynamic wheel rim will help you cut through the air if you’re moving fast ( but in a cross-wind it could cause you handling problems ). So the shape of the rim can be important too.
Take into account the material used to make the bike rim too, as although steel has been the most common , and is cheaper, it’s heavy and can be hard to repair if it gets damaged.
Alloy is likely the most popular now-days. It can be made into any shape and profile, flat or aero, but not too deep as it would then weigh too much. Most deep section rims have an alloy braking section closest the tire which is then mounted into a deep carbon section, which keeps it light and can be moulded to be more aerodynamic .
The best wheel rim would have to be an all-carbon one. Carbon is strong and very light, but there are also a few problems with these rims. They don’t brake so well in wet conditions so you need special brake blocks for carbon which are quite expensive. Also the rim has to be perfectly round and not have any bulges in the rim wall or the braking can become erratic. Carbon is a difficult material to work with and must be well looked after.
The type of tire you intend using also influences what rim you go after. There are two types:
So there’s a lot to decide on, but one good thing these days is that wheel are are manufactured in all these variations and in sets – Mavic, Shimano and Campagnolo are probably the best known, and there are other brands as well. The manufacturers make up the wheels as complete units so that you can buy them already set-up for whatever style of riding you’re into .
